The Adam Centre was formally known as Montrose Day Care and was formed in 1987 by a group of volunteers. It was situated in St Mary’s Hall in Panmure Place Montrose. Initially it was open for a couple of days a week where older people could get a hot meal, a bath and social company.

Demand quickly grew for this service and the Local Authority agreed to fund the centre enabling them to employ paid staff.

In 2013 Montrose Day Care was very fortunate to receive a very generous legacy from The Adam family which enabled us to build a purpose-built building. It was called The Adam Centre as a tribute to The Adam family. The centre is situated on the old ambulance station site across from the tennis courts in Warrack Terrace and became operational in November 2015. It is a beautiful building with gardens and a summer house for our members’ use.
